5:00pm tomorrow can not get here soon enough!!!!

We are leaving for the beach as soon as we get off of work tomorrow and I could not be more excited! We're going with my friend (her 40th birthday is actually the reason for the trip), her husband and one other couple.

There was another couple that was supposed to go, but they backed out at the last minute, like they always do. Actually, they didn't even tell us they weren't going at the last minute...the friend that's turning 40 had to call, email and text them several times to find out if they were still going before she got a reply.

Anywho, we're going to have a great time, no matter who goes or doesn't go. I can't wait to do nothing but sit on the beach for two days and eat some wonderful seafood!

Have a great weekend!

friends (part two)

I have some friends that live in another state, we'll call them couple #1 (original, I know). The wife of couple #1 has been one of my best friends for over ten years. I was with her when she met her husband and I was maid of honor in their wedding.

We all have mutual friends, we'll call them couple #2 and couple #3. Couple #2 and #3 both live in the same state (not the same state that I live in, nor the same state where couple #1 lives). Couple #1 are better friends with #2 and #3 than I am, but we're all friends. Couple #1, #2 and #3 all have children.

Okay, now that I've given you all of the background info, I can move on to the actual story.

We all get together from time to time and we've always all had fun together. So I find out via Facebook last week (junior high schoolish, I know) that couple #1 has invited couple #2 and #3 to their house for a weekend get together. My boyfriend and I were not invited. I know it's petty, but my feelings are kind of hurt by this. I think it's because they all have children and we don't. Which I don't understand, because we have all gotten together for a weekend before, all of their children were there, and I didn't have a problem with that. I don't have a problem with other people's children as long as they are not spoiled little brats well behaved and I don't have to take care of them.

I know I'm being petty and I shouldn't let it bother me, but I really do consider the wife of couple #1 to be one of my best friends, and I already hate that we live so far apart and don't get to see each other as often as I would like. I know there isn't really anything I can do about the situation, it is what it is. I just wanted to get that off my chest.

Moving on......I think we're going to do a whole lot of nothing this weekend since we were so busy last weekend. I hope you all of a wonderful weekend!

late weekend review

It was such a busy weekend that I didn't even turn my computer on Saturday or Sunday. Actually, Sunday wasn't that busy, I was just lazy enjoying the snow. I'm finally caught up on reading all of my blogs!

Friday night we went to another couple's house for dinner and I ended up getting drunk drinking several a few glasses of wine. We played card games after dinner, the boys against the girls, and of course the girls won!

I woke up with a raging hangover slight headache on Saturday morning, but I pushed my way through it, because I had lots to do. I ran errands Saturday morning, spent Saturday afternoon going with a friend of mine to pick up some things for our dinner that night. Saturday night we also went to another couple's house (different couple....for some reason we were quite popular this weekend) for dinner. We had a great time, but I was so glad to get home and get in the bed since I was still feeling the effects from Friday night.

Sunday was spent enjoying the snow and still recovering from Friday night. I'm not as young as I used to be, it takes me longer to recover from too much a little drinking these days!

friends (part one)

Maybe I've got PMS, maybe I'm just being petty, but my friends have been rubbing me the wrong way this week.

One of my friends invited me to lunch yesterday and I gladly accepted. When we met at the restaurant, she got out of her car and was on the phone. No big deal. I assumed (wrongly) that she would tell whoever it was that she had just gotten to the restaurant for lunch to meet someone and that she would call them back. Instead, she continued the conversation upon entering the restaurant, while we were being seated, AND several minutes after we had been seated. That is just rude. For the record, I would also like to state that it was a personal call and not business.

I realize that I'm unemployed right now and don't have to go back to work after lunch, but that doesn't mean that I want to sit there and listen to someone talk on the phone for 15 minutes.

A little courtesy please, that's all I ask.

it's going to be a good weekend

I know in my last post I said that I wish I could skip Christmas, but that's not entirely true. I just wish I could skip the crowds, the traffic and the shopping for other people. I like to shop for myself, I don't like to shop for other people. Not because I'm selfish, but because I know what I want and need.....other people, have no idea what they want/need. I don't know why we all don't just go out and by ourselves something we want for Christmas and pretend somebody else gave it to us. Then we wouldn't have to complain about getting shitty presents....everyone would get exactly what they wanted.

Okay, back to the reason for my post. The reason that I would not want to skip Christmas entirely is because every year, one weekend in the month of December (before Christmas of course) I go spend the weekend with a friend of mine that lives in a different city and she does her "Christmas Baking" all day while I get drunk drink a few drinks and inhale taste test all of her cookies, candy, etc. that she bakes. I don't take my boyfriend with me and she makes her husband stay out of the house all day, and we get to drink, eat and be merry. And that weekend is here! I'm leaving in the morning to go to her house and coming back Sunday, I can't wait..........Good Times!
