tagged

It's been so long since I started my tagged post, for your convenience, click here to get to it.

silent treatment

I just wanted to clarify #3 from my last post. I'm not really a spoiled brat and I don't use the silent treatment often at all. Only when it's something really important. And usually when it's something really important, my boyfriend knows this and uses it to really push my buttons. For some reason, he thinks it just hilarious when I get all fired up. So usually, in order to not give him the satisfaction of getting me all fired up, I just stop talking to him and go to another room. Then, when he realizes I'm not talking to him, he likes to follow me and continuously talk to me until I just can't stand it anymore. We usually end up laughing about it.

and the award goes to......

ME! I got my first award from Soliloquy (She Just Had to Say It). If you haven't already been reading her blog, you should check her out, she cracks me up! Especially the stories of the presents her husband got her each day because he's a freak (her words not mine) and put up the Christmas tree way before Thanksgiving. Just for the record Soliloquy, I agree with you that he did it to intentionally aggravate you.

Here are the rules:

list 10 honest things about yourself

pass the award onto 7 blogs that you find brilliant in their content or design

link to the blogger who gave you this prize

link to the blogs receiving the prize

notify the recipients

1. I'm really bad at coming up with lists of things about myself (just ask Lipsmacker, I still haven't finished her tagged post).

2. My boyfriend thinks I'm a neat freak, but I don't think I am.....I think it's just because he grew up in a house where you can't even walk through any of the rooms because his family, a. Doesn't throw anything away (when I say anything, I mean absolutely nothing, these people are PACK RATS) and b. Are disgustingly filthy not clean people. Seriously, it's gross....I refuse to go inside their house.

3. I give the silent treatment when I don't get my way. I'm not sure why, because it doesn't seem to work.

4. I love food and I love to cook.....I especially love to try new recipes.

5. I was engaged once. For less than 24 hours. Not kidding.

6. I love to read. Seriously, Amazon could stay in business even if I was their one and only customer.

7. I actually like working for my boss when she's not driving me totally insane. I know that makes no sense, but you would just have to know her.

8. I hate driving. Mostly because of all the other people I encounter on the road that can't drive for shit.

9. As much as I don't ever want any kids of my own, other people's kids love me.

10. Wow, I actually made it to ten. I've only made it to three on my tagged post.

Now for the lucky seven:

1.
27 Dresses in Cleveland: I just recently found her blog, and I love her dating stories. And I can definitely relate to being "Always a Bridesmaid".

2.
That Girl: She actually found me, and I'm so glad she did. I love reading her blog and I can't wait for her Saturday Posts.....She's going to start sharing her fashion experience!

3.
Puttin' on the G.R.I.T.S.: A fellow southern girl and I can't wait for her to move to Charleston with the love of her life!

4.
Misadventures of a Newlywed: Mrs. Newlywed was one of the first blog's I started reading; I found her through a friend's blog. I always get a laugh when I read her blog, especially when she posts about one of her "misadventures" with Mr. Newlywed or when she receives such lovely emails from her devil-in-law.

5.
Lipstick Diaries: Another one of my favorites; she definitely tells it like it is!

6.
Cocaine Princess: She has the most fascinating stories!

7.
Just Won't: She cracks me up! I just lover her sarcasm.

alfredo sauce

I still haven't finished my tagged post (I've got 3 out of 6 done), so I thought I'd post another recipe today. This alfredo sauce is quick, easy and really good. You can add chicken, shrimp, or whatever you want. I usually buy the Tyson popcorn chicken, cook it, cut each one in half and add it to the noodles and sauce.

ALFREDO SAUCE

INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup butter
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
garlic salt (I don't measure this, you can just add to your taste)
2 cups milk
6 ounces grated Parmesan cheese
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

DIRECTIONS:
Melt butter in a medium, non-stick saucepan over medium heat. Add cream cheese and garlic powder, stirring with wire whisk until smooth. Add milk, a little at a time, whisking to smooth out lumps. Stir in Parmesan and pepper. Remove from heat when sauce reaches desired consistency. Sauce will thicken rapidly, thin with milk if cooked too long. Toss with hot pasta to serve.

can someone tell me

how you can spend $94 at Wal-Mart and only leave with about 4 bags that aren't even stuffed full?

somewhat accomplished......

I know I said that I would have my "tagged" post up by today, but it's just not happening.

I finished the rest of my Christmas shopping today except for two presents and I finally got my Christmas cards in the mail. I need to clean the house, but I think I may wait and do that tomorrow.

I also accomplished going to the liquor store and getting a big bottle of Bailey's so I could have some decaf coffee with Bailey's in it when I got home.....I'm debating right now whether to go ahead and fix another cup or wait until later. What the hell, it's Saturday, I'll go ahead fix another cup.

I spoke too soon....

I hate my boss. It has taken me ALL WEEK, but I finally finished a big project that I was working on. So as soon as I finish, what does she do? She decides that she shouldn't have done SEVERAL things on there the way that she did, so guess who gets to make all of the changes? If you guessed me, then you guessed correctly. Just when I thought I was FINALLY getting caught up. And just so you know, this is not a rare occurence, she does this ALL THE TIME. She is the most wishy/washy person I know.

She must have read my blog and saw my "I'm so excited it's the weekend" post yesterday, and decided she'd put a stop to all that happiness. I'm taking that bitch her off my Christmas shopping list.

Speaking of Christmas presents.....last night my boyfriend thought he needed to have a conversation with me about what he was getting the mooch his sister for Christmas. Now, he's known me for three years and you've been reading my blog for two seconds. Just by reading the couple of stories I've written about her, would you think that not only could I care less about what he's getting her, but that I would probably think he shouldn't even be getting her a Christmas gift at all considering the thousands of dollars he has loaned her already that he'll never see again? Honestly, I wouldn't feel this way if the girl was out there trying, really trying to get on her feet, but she's not. Hell, why would she? She's got it made....her family always bails her out when she's in trouble, fully supports her financially, etc. I'm all for helping people, but not people that won't try to help themselves first.

Okay, I'm through bitching ranting now. Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

it's going to be another great weekend!

First of all, I'm so glad tomorrow is Friday, this has been the longest week! It's going to be a wonderful Friday because I only have to work half a day, we get our Christmas bonuses tomorrow, AND I'm going for a much needed visit to the hair salon! And more than likely I'll get a pedicure after that. I promise I'm not really a girly, girl......if you saw the state that my hair and my toes are in, you'd probably ask me why my boyfriend hasn't left me yet.

Saturday and Sunday I plan on getting my Christmas shopping done. Also, the boyfriend has to work this weekend and as much as I love him, I'm looking very forward to having the house to myself this weekend. I've got a lot to do around the house and it's so much more peaceful easier when he's not here and in the way.

On a totally different subject, I was tagged by
Lipsmacker yesterday. I promise I'm working on that post and will hopefully have it done sometime tomorrow or Saturday at the latest.

tagged

I've been tagged by Lipstick Diaries. I love her blog! I'm so happy for her that she's found a steady man, but I do miss her tales of her dating adventures....if you haven't read her blog yet, you should definitely check her out and read her ENTIRE blog from the beginning, you won't regret it.

Here are the rules:
1. Link to the person that tagged you.
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself.
4. Tag six random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs.
5. Let each random person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their website.
6. Let your tagger know when your entry is up.

Okay so here it is. Six non-important things/habits/quirks all about me!

1. I've never been on a blind date that wasn't absolutely horrible...except once, and we're still dating. My current boyfriend was a semi-blind date. We were set up by a mutual friend and I knew what he looked like, but he didn't know what I looked like. I honestly thought we'd go out once and that would be the end of the that (I had NOT had much luck in the dating department in a long, long, long time), but lo and behold we've been together three years and he's the most wonderful man I've ever been with (so far, haha).

2. I won't eat green colored food. If it's something that's chopped up in something (like celery), that I can handle, but if it's something like quacamole, spinach, green beans, etc. I'm not eating it.

3. I absolutely love anything that has peanut butter and chocolate together....and I don't mean just Reese's cups, I mean ANYTHING.

4. I can be extremely lazy when I put my mind to it. This past weekend was one of those weekends. The only thing I accomplished was wrapping Christmas presents. Seriously, that was the only thing I did in two whole days. Don't judge me, at least I did that. I almost put that off.

5. I can never get my feet warm in the winter time. Never. Not even with socks on. So I like to put them on inside of my boyfriend's thigh. He absolutely hates it when I do that.

6. I'm really ready for Christmas to get here. This is the first day of my vacation (third if you count the weekend) and I'm already going stir crazy.

I'm going to cheat and not tag anyone in particular. If you would like to do this then by all means please do!

mexican casserole

MEXICAN CASSEROLE

1 lb. ground beef
1 bag finely shredded mild cheddar cheese
1 can black beans
1 can mexicorn
1 packet of taco seasoning
1 regular size jar of taco sauce
1 bag Fritos Scoops

Put ground beef and taco seasoning in pan and mix together while browning ground beef. After ground beef is done, mix ground beef, taco sauce, black beans and mexicorn in separate bowl and pour into casserole dish. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top and then crush the Fritos Scoops and sprinkle those on top. Bake in oven for 20 – 25 minutes.

one more thing......

On the chicken salad recipe post below, I forgot to say that I use boneless, skinless chicken breasts and boil them (I'm sure most of you that cook figured that out). You could probably also use the chicken that comes in the can that's already cooked and cut up if you wanted to...I've just never tried that.

Please feel free to ask if you have any questions.

the best chicken salad recipe EVER!

So I only had one person comment that they would be interested in my recipes, but I'm easy and don't need a lot of encouragement.

I have never made this chicken salad and not had someone ask me for the recipe. It is definitely my favorite chicken salad I've ever tasted, and I consider myself to be a chicken salad connosuier. If you use this recipe, I'd love to hear from you. You can either email me or comment on this post after you make it, and be honest! I promise if you don't like it, it won't hurt my feelings......I'm not an overly sensitive person.

Chicken Salad

2 ½ cups cooked chicken (I use food processor to cut up)
1/3 cup finely chopped celery (also use food processor for this)
2 tablespoons onion (food processor)
½ cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons sour cream
¾ teaspoon curry powder
1/8 teaspoon Cajun seasoning (I put a little more than this)

Put chicken, celery, and onion in a bowl together. In a small bowl mix mayo, sour cream, curry powder, and Cajun seasoning together then put into bowl with chicken, celery, and onion and mix everything together.

all I want for Christmas is......

One of the rules from THAT GIRL'S giveaway is to tell what is at the top of your Christmas list.

All I want for Christmas is
this. I couldn't find a picture on the internet that I was able to steal copy, so I had to link to it. I have been lusting after this necklace for several months now, and I hope Santa remembers to leave it under my tree on Christmas Eve!

another Christmas giveaway!

THAT GIRL is having a giveaway with all of her favorite things. I just found her blog through another blog and I'm so glad I did! Click here to check out her post about her giveaway.

recipes

I know I don't have that many followers, but I would like to know how many of you (if any of you) like to cook? I have no intention of turning this into a cooking blog, but some of the people whose blogs I follow, have asked for recipe ideas in the past few days. I like to cook, but I am not one for difficult recipes.....I like quick & easy recipes, but I still want them to taste like I slaved away over them, haha. Anyway, I thought I would ask and if there is any interest, I thought I would post a few of my favorite recipes that are quick and easy but also delicious.

So, if you like to cook, or even if you don't but are interested in any new recipes, please leave me a comment on this post.

it's going to be a good weekend

I know in my last post I said that I wish I could skip Christmas, but that's not entirely true. I just wish I could skip the crowds, the traffic and the shopping for other people. I like to shop for myself, I don't like to shop for other people. Not because I'm selfish, but because I know what I want and need.....other people, have no idea what they want/need. I don't know why we all don't just go out and by ourselves something we want for Christmas and pretend somebody else gave it to us. Then we wouldn't have to complain about getting shitty presents....everyone would get exactly what they wanted.

Okay, back to the reason for my post. The reason that I would not want to skip Christmas entirely is because every year, one weekend in the month of December (before Christmas of course) I go spend the weekend with a friend of mine that lives in a different city and she does her "Christmas Baking" all day while I get drunk drink a few drinks and inhale taste test all of her cookies, candy, etc. that she bakes. I don't take my boyfriend with me and she makes her husband stay out of the house all day, and we get to drink, eat and be merry. And that weekend is here! I'm leaving in the morning to go to her house and coming back Sunday, I can't wait..........Good Times!

I loathe Christmas shopping......just call me scrooge

I have not even started Christmas shopping yet. Have not bought one. single. gift. I'm just not a Christmas person. I really just wish I could just fast forward through the whole holiday season.

Bah humbug!

road rage

1. There are two lanes going one way on the interstate. If you are in the left (fast) lane and there is even ONE car behind you (usually it's about ten) GET THE FUCK OVER!!!!! This happens each and every time I get on the interstate.

2. If you are driving on a road where the speed limit is 30 mph and you are driving 20 mph, GO THE FUCK HOME, SELL YOUR CAR, AND NEVER EVER GET BEHIND THE WHEEL OF A CAR AGAIN!!!!!!!! You are either too old or too stupid and you should not even have been issued a driver's license in the first place.

get a job

Dear Mooch Boyfriend's Sister,

Since you have been out of college for SEVERAL months and during that time have failed to seek gainful employment, do you really think it's appropriate to call your brother who was stupid kind enough to buy you the phone and put you on his phone plan in the first place, and ask for a new phone just because your phone has a teeny tiny scratch on the screen?

I'm going to make this easy for you and make this a multiple choice question:

A. No, it's not appropriate. I should be grateful for what I have considering I have no job.

B. No, it's not appropriate. I should not ask anyone for anything when I'm too lazy too get a job.

C. Not only is it not appropriate, I should not even be on my brother's phone plan in the first place considering the fact that I'm almost 30 years old and should have a J.O.B. so I can pay for my own phone.

D. ALL OF THE ABOVE

Sincerely,

GET A JOB

back to the grind

Why do holidays go by so fast? I've been off work for 4 and a half days and I feel like I just left this place.

I need to win the lottery or marry a millionaire....I could get used to not working.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
